Eczema
● Eczema(Dermatitis)
Eczema refers to a group of inflammatory skin conditions that cause redness, itching, small bumps or blisters, and scabbing.
It can have many different causes, including allergies, dryness, irritants, or stress.
● Diagnosis
Diagnosis is made by examining the skin’s appearance and progression over time.
If necessary, allergy testing may be performed to help identify underlying triggers.
● Treatment Approach
• Avoiding or reducing the causes and aggravating factors such as irritants and excessive dryness.
• Using topical steroid creams and moisturizers to control inflammation and restore the skin barrier.
• Taking antihistamines when itching is severe.
• In some cases, ultraviolet light therapy (excimer lamp treatment using the Flexis Fit system) is applied to reduce inflammation and itching safely and effectively.
